Newport Rising Festival 2020 Virtual Commemoration
Every year we gather in the graveyard at St Woolos Cathedral to remember the 22 men who died fighting for democracy on November 4th 1839. For the 182nd anniversary of the Newport Rising, we asked for reflections on how the actions of the Chartists continue to impact our lives today. Filmmaker Jack Henry has created this memorial piece from those reflections.
Video Production by Jack Henry of Wide Island Films
Music and sound design by Gareth Young
Additional score 'Riot at the Westgate' composed by Kelvin Redicliffe and voiced by Kelvin Redicliffe and Mike Jones
