About the Event

For the past four decades, Ian Walker has photographed the visual reminders and commemorations of Chartism in and around Newport. This slideshow features over seventy of these pictures, which will roll on a loop during the day while the Westgate is open. Ian will be present during the day; more on his other work can be found at ianwalkerphoto.com

This exhibition runs concurrently with talks on the 'bullet holes at the Westgate' by Ray Stroud and Harry Iles presenting his work 'Solidarity' also at the Westgate.

Hand sanitiser stations and regular cleaning are in place at the Westgate and we recommend safe social distancing and other measures including face masks to protect all visitors. It is vital that you do not enter if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of COVID.
