Greg Ryan and Genevieve, both very talented music artists, will be playing at our Newport Rising Hub.

Greg is a local singer, multi instrumentalist and songwriter and has a large repertoir of self-penned songs influenced by folk, country and americana. His songs cover subjects including attempts to relax into the chaos of looking for life’s purpose, struggles with long distance relationships and the life and works of at least one near forgotten female palaeontologist. As one half of the music duo Nothing North Of Alaska, he was highlighted as artist of the week by BBC introducing, topped the international independent charts with two original songs and won a Download Music Award for best acoustic act. Following his musical partner moving to the other side of the world, Greg has established himself as a solo performer, playing a wide reaching variety of venues from Le Pub in Newport to the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Greg’s shows are usually a combination of upbeat acoustic bangers, slower contemplations influenced by Greg’s background as a pianist and composer and more than one singalong chorus.
