About the Event
Sharif Gemie will be giving a talk on the work of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, which opperated in the 1940s, introducing the UNRRA's mission, covering the lives of the workers and actions they took during the second world war.
Following from this, he'll be talking is through his novel, The Displaced, which concerns a British couple who volunteer to work for UNRRA in 1945.
