Raise the Rising! New Year's Eve Celebrations at The Westgate Hotel

 This New Year's Eve we're going to party like it's 1899...with a twist...The rich are living it up while the poor are down and out but on this night they'll be united under one roof as the Westgate Hotel is open again, with the traditional Victorian themed 'Bar 22', the favoured haunt of the well to-do and the modern 'Rising Bar' where the working classes dance and drink with street food and bawdy entertainments. Worlds collide in the central ballroom though, where circus acts, street performers, the mighty Rogora Khart and DJ all battle it out to a crowd on the edge of rebellion...

Newport hasn't seen a New Year's Eve party like this one since....well we're not sure Newport has ever seen a party like this tbh. It's going to be weird and wonderful as we Raise the Rising and welcome in 2020

All ticket sales go towards Newport Rising Festival 2020. What is Newport Rising about? It's not just about what happened in 1839, but it's also about today, about a city on the rise, a city with an edge and a future. That's why we're inviting anyone to come as you like, dressed up to the 1839s, ultra-modern or a mash-up of the two, it's completely up to you. Entry to the Westgate Hotel is via Stow Hill entrance from 7pm. Our bars will be operating on a challenge 25 basis.
