About the Event
Rusty Shackle headline the RISE stage at The Gallery Space, with support from Upbeat Sneakers.
Welsh indie-roots band Rusty Shackle have been tearing up stages around the world since 2010. Brandishing their distinct folk-roots sound and armed with an electrifying mix of rampant fiddle, scorching electric guitars, pounding drums, searing trumpet and banjo, the band have built up a devoted fanbase with their captivating live shows.
Merthyr Tydfil's Upbeat Sneakers are well known for their lively shows and festival sets. You need to come to a show to experience just how much energy the band have. In the hot and sweaty live environment you find the answer to why things are progressing at a fast pace for the boys. People want to dance, but to real songs from real musicians with real energy and Upbeat Sneakers have already started to prove to people that they can start a party.
CHROMA is a three-piece band from South Wales. Their sound fuses Garage Rock with math influences, inspired by bands like Biffy Clyro, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rage Against The Machine and Gossip. Chroma have received BBC backing with support from BBC Introducing Music at Reading and Leeds festival 2017, Horizons Launchpad and regular airplay on BBC Radio 1 from Huw Stephens, BBC Radio Wales and Radio Cymru. In addition to this, they've been tipped in The 405’s piece on New Music as the ‘ones to watch’ from Wales this year. We're also tipped as PRS' "ones to do big things in 2018".
