Spies in the Camp – Tom Fowler

As the public inquiry continues into what’s become known as the ‘Spycops’ controversy, veteran activist and podcaster Tom Fowler will give an absorbing insight into the operations of undercover police units which targeted and infiltrated his and other campaign groups, often spending years masquerading as genuine members while they bent rules and abused trust to gather information. 

Tom will also give an update on revelations from the latest phase of the public inquiry, due to begin on 13^th October. An interim report from the long-running probe has already found these spying activities ‘unjustified’ and officers guilty of ‘serious wrongs.’  This fascinating free entry presentation will run alongside the Newport Radical Bookfair.
