Newport Rising is a grass roots festival and the first of its kind in Newport. It’s a big project and that’s why we’re looking to the community for help. We'll need fire keepers, agitators, recruiters, standard-bearers, peace keepers (and litter pickers, runners and general helpers) to help us make Newport Rising 2019 even better than the first. Just like the Chartists, we believe that great things are possible when we act together.

There are a number of roles available, but most will require volunteers to be available on the main weekend of the festival (1st - 3rd November) in particular during the march due to take place between 4 and 7 pm on Saturday the 2nd November. Depending on role, volunteers may need to be available for a briefing session prior to the festival weekend.

In return we’ll make sure your contribution is recognised and rewarded, with a personal thanks plus free access to events, t-shirts and other goodies and hopefully we’ll all get to be a part of something worth doing for Newport..
