Launch of 'The Bookshop' at Newport Rising Hub

'The Bookshop' at Newport Rising Hub opens on Saturday 13 December 2025 at 1030, with a reception at the Hub with Patrick Jones, Odette Debono and new writers who contributed to the anthology Voices for the Future/Lleisiau'r Dyfodol, celebrating creativity, diversity and the history of Wales. 

Jones is one of the most distinctive of Welsh poetry talents with a new collection Antidotes to Dissolution to be published in 2026. 

Odette Debono is from Pill. Her first book White Sheep is published in March and will be launched at Newport Festival of Words (20-22 March 2026).  White Sheep has been described as "candid and compelling with a kick like a mule".

Voices for the Future /Lleisiau'r Dyfodol, presents the work of new young and adult writers, from community groups in South East Wales, who have connected with their Chartist heritage to 'shape powerful and personal poetry for the present'.
