Newport Rising Hub Silent Book Club

Are you looking for an oasis of calm in the middle of a busy week? Just want to sit quietly and read for a while?

We at Our Chartist Heritage/Newport Rising are (quietly) excited to announce that Newport’s very first Silent Book Club will be held at the Newport Rising Hub on Wednesday 20 August 2025 from 1300-1400.

There are no set books - bring what you would like to read, however you like to read it.  

Nobody will ask you to discuss what you are reading! There will be, however, opportunities to chat informally with others at the beginning and end of the session.

Doors will open at 1300. The Silent Reading will begin at 1310 and end at 1350. The event will finish at 1400. You are welcome to arrive and leave at whatever time works for you but please observe the silence if you join or leave…
